I have nothing to say.Just....a few hours ago I had an RP with someone,their OC was way too overpowered.Their OC even had a tragic past *pukes buckets*It annoyed the fuck out of me and it almost turned my most interesting and balanced OC into a Mary-sue just because I wanted her to pwn their character.And when I told them their characters are Mary-sues they said "huh???so you think being creative is a bad thing??" 
And it's not the first time it happens to me -_________-"
People,MARY-SUENESS IS NOT CREATIVITY!!!!!
So don't fucking create a mary-sue,no matter how "creative" do you think he/she is.They are annoying as hell.Rant over.

indeed. creativity is not making an overpowered and angsty character, but it is making a character who has enough faults when compared to their strengths. when you are able to make a character that has both faults and strengths but are able to make them interesting, that's true creativity.
my sonic ocs all have weaknesses. some of them can fight, some of them have potential to be great fighters, but they're too lazy to work on it, and all of my ocs have a certain something that sets them on the edge. only one of my characters has a sad backstory, though thats what helped her become a better and nicer person, choosing to help with injuries rather than to fight (even though she was once great)
